Woodstock ma "brew"

Updated: Aug 20, 2019

This edgy neighborhood is ever evolving with its galleries of street art on the walls of old run down buildings bringing vibrant colors and culture to the street, I am so proud to see all these cool places popping up and its so close to home. I am so excited to see Woodstock's growing craft beer scene come to life. There are so many quirky places to visit these are just a few places I recently visited.

The Brewers co-op

Small-scale bar hub in the heart of lower Woodstock, with a very unique back bar set up that makes this place so unique each of the Co-Opers installed their choice of tap handle from teddy bears to dinosaurs. They have a selection of small batch craft beer and ciders and gin that is forever changing, so every time you visit you can taste something new. A fun casual vibe with lots of character.

“Our venue is wheelchair accessible, dog-friendly, bike friendly, baby friendly and skateboard friendly.”

Such a cool chilled vibe they even have game nights while you chill and drink some tasty beer.

Darling brew

A very industrial chic vibe restaurant opposite the Woodstock Exchange. The atmosphere is very relaxed, its quite a big open space and great for big groups. The massive black and white art works is very fitting with the brand giving it and interesting look and feel. The menu looks like an old news paper the meals are very German orientated. The food was yummy and it was cool to just relax after a long day. Whats really cool is that Darling Beer is Africa’s first carbon neutral brewery. Its more than just beer, its about sustainability, animal conservation and awareness, Recycling, water saving and waste management. So a big thumbs up from me. They also have Guided tours take place twice daily at 11am and 2pm. Groups are limited to 20 people per tour I would definitely recommend making a booking.

Woodstock Brewery

Love this spot mainly because of the good food and value for money. They are well known for their weekly specials and great beer.

This place is really nice the team were helpful and maybe a bit slow in taking orders for big groups, I'm not sure about the vibe but I've been there twice and the service was not the best, The waiter shouting at our large table and making an announcement while we placed our orders, like a school teacher trying to talk to students in a class.

There is plenty indoor and outdoor seating and looks great for big groups also parking is free on the premises they also take bookings for birthdays and events.

They also have two fireplaces making it the perfect place for a cosy evening out.

If you into Foos ball they also have a foos ball table downstairs free of charge.
