With Valentines day around the corner a romantic picnic might seem like the perfect way to spend the day with your special person. Setting up your own little picnic does take a bit of effort but its so worth it.

That's why I decided to write this blog, to help you create the perfect picnic and make it extra special.

Picking the location

When choosing a location for your romantic picnic, it’s all about finding a place where you and your partner can relax and enjoy each other’s company with minimal distractions.

Park Picnics

Picnics at the park are peaceful and easy to set up. Pick a secluded shady spot under the trees away from distractions. Bring along some cushions and big blankets to make your picnic more comfortable.

Picnic by the water

Choose a location with an incredible view, take in the sights with a yummy glass of her favourite wine. Up the romance by timing your picnic and setting the mood with a sunset backdrop.

Secrete locations picnic

Sometimes a spontaneous adventure is what you need to create a little excitement. Taking a drive along the coast and finding a cute spot together is also a good idea and it might be a special place that you both can visit because you discovered it together.

What you will need to pack

· Beautiful flowers like roses displayed in a cute little vase or improvise with a recycled wine bottle. (I love recycling) or use her favourite flowers, even better.

· A bohemian rug or large blankets to sit on and some pillows for extra comfort.

· A wooden board that you can use as a table top.

· Picnic basket to put everything in.

· Containers for jams or dips

· Bucket and ice

· Glasses and cutlery

· Serviettes or wipes

Food

· Your favourite cheeses for a cheese board some sweet fruits. Woolworths has these really yummy ready packed cheese boards.

· Sacks like popcorn nuts etc.

· Crackers for your cheese or fresh breads

· And obviously a good wine or champagn.

Essential tips

Make sure the weather is perfect for the picnic, there's nothing worse than planning a beautiful day in the outdoors and its super windy or rainy.

Pack a deck of cards or board games for some fun activities, take some cute photos and enjoy making moments with your person.
