On Sunday passed I had the opportunity to take my parents with me on an adventure to Spice Route. We broke bread had some wine and admired the views. I always love the vibe at spice route it’s so relaxing the leaves were falling and the winter sunlight sparkled through the shady trees like little flickers of light. One can get lost looking into the distance and seeing the other side of table mountain was something new for my folks. We had a long look at the menu I must admit I had to ask the waiter what a bacon chop was I wasn’t too familiar with some of the things listed on the menu. I decided we should all try different dishes. Amy was happy to have the pan roasted duck breast with braised red cabbage and parsnip, She’s never heard of parsnip before but braved it out and went for gold. My mom had the king clip and rice poppadum, coconut , coriander. I ordered the CBC bacon chop mashed potato sweet breads and spouts. By the way the bacon chop looked like pork belly not something on my usual to eat list but enjoyed it non the less. My dad ordered the dry aged rump St. Louis polenta, his not really a steak guy but really enjoyed the meal. I do believe you have to try everything at least once.
I would have liked to take a picture of the meals my parents ordered to share with you but they didn't get the memo and started eating before I could snap a pic!

I saw the recent posts about the new restaurant that opened at spice route and thought "wow" I am super excited to go back to and see what it’s all about and have a new experience. So I entered a competition on Instagram and surprise I actually won. I must be on a streak it’s the 3rd thing I’ve won this year. They say it comes in three so maybe my luck has run out but I’m feeling super lucky to have both my parents and feeling blessed to have this day to celebrate with my them. We were treated with the best service and even got a complementary board with yummy treats on it.

I took some cool photos I knew that today was a special day. One for the dads, I know I haven’t been the best daughter looking back at my behavior as a teenager, back chatting and bratty behavior I am surprised he didn’t leave me homeless and out in the cold. But I guess that’s a parents love never ending and unconditional.
